Every time I get an interview opportunity, I jump right into it. Many times, the process stops before the final round. Was it time wasted? Not at all.

Every interview teaches me something. What worked. What didn't. What I should do differently next time. Those lessons accumulate and become valuable preparation for the next opportunity.

Building a portfolio career is not easy. Each of my roles comes with a defined timeline. Two terms, and that's it. Because of that, I usually know when a role will end. What I don't know is when the next opportunity will come.

A portfolio career is not for the faint-hearted. The uncertainty can be uncomfortable. Yet it is also incredibly rewarding. It forces me to keep learning, stay relevant, build relationships, and develop my entrepreneurial mindset as a solopreneur.

Every day feels like a fresh start. A new opportunity to explore, contribute, and create value.

For those of you currently looking for your next role, don't view every unsuccessful interview as a rejection. View it as training. One conversation at a time, you are becoming better prepared for the opportunity that is meant for you.
